The Honest Take

They are not really competitors.

Flock Freight invented shared truckload as a category. If you ship 1 to 18 pallets frequently, Flock is often cheaper and faster than traditional LTL because you pay for exactly the space you use, without the hub-and-spoke delays of LTL networks. Their business is a brilliant solution to a specific problem.

FreightPlus is a managed transportation provider. We do not solve the partial-truckload problem; we solve the "my entire freight program is inefficient and understaffed" problem. Our customers typically have a mix of LTL, TL, and intermodal with enough complexity that they need strategy plus execution, not a better load booking experience.

In practice, many of our shipper customers use Flock as one of the carriers in their FreightPlus-managed portfolio. When a load is a good candidate for shared truckload, we route it through Flock. When it is better served by contract LTL or dedicated TL, we route it there. FreightPlus handles the strategic decision and the execution across all options.

If you are debating between the two, the question is not "which is better" but "what am I actually trying to solve?" A single-mode tactical tool, or a managed program.

Pick FreightPlus When
  • · You ship across multiple modes (LTL, TL, intermodal, drayage, final mile)
  • · You have $5M+ annual freight spend and want program-level management
  • · You lack (or do not want to build) an in-house logistics team
  • · You need board-ready reporting, savings attribution, QBRs
  • · Your freight program feels like it is running you, not the other way around
Pick Flock Freight When
  • · The bulk of your freight is 1–18 pallet partial shipments
  • · You want self-serve booking and transactional pricing
  • · Your LTL bills are full of reclasses, accessorials, and transit delays
  • · You already have logistics staff to handle everything beyond partials
  • · You need a specific tactical solution, not a full program
