The Honest Take

They are not really competitors.

Flock Freight invented Shared Truckload as a new mode. If you ship 5 to 20 pallets frequently, Flock is often more reliable and faster than LTL, and cheaper than truckload, because you pay for the trailer space you actually use without the hub-and-spoke handling of LTL networks. Their business is a brilliant solution to a massive industry problem: truckload underutilization.

FreightPlus is a managed transportation provider. We do not solve the partially empty truckload problem; we solve the "my entire freight program is inefficient and understaffed" problem. Our customers typically have a mix of LTL, TL, and intermodal with enough complexity that they need strategy plus execution across modes, not a better single-mode booking experience.

In practice, many of our shipper customers use Flock as one of the carriers in their FreightPlus-managed portfolio. When a load is a good candidate for Shared Truckload, we route it through Flock. When it is better served by contract LTL or dedicated TL, we route it there. FreightPlus handles the strategic decision and the execution across all options.

If you are debating between the two, the question is not "which is better" but "what am I actually trying to solve?" A specialized partner for partially empty truckloads, or a managed program across every mode you ship.
